２２世紀の飛行船

Kevin Judlinというデザイナーがデザインした『stalker』という飛行船。
クジラやイルカのような海洋生物を彷彿とするフォルムだ。

仮想的な２２世紀での使用を想定としているようだ。
２２世紀まであと８０年。
当然、僕は生きてはいないだろうが、どういう世の中になっているのだろう。

人類が想像してきたものの多くは現実となった。
手塚治虫の鉄腕アトムの世界も、当時としては果てしない未来の話ではあったが、そこに登場するモノの多くが、今の僕たちの身の回りにはある。
唯一、「ケータイ」だけを除いて。

アトムに登場する電話は、昔ながらのコード付き電話。
手塚治虫の人並みはずれた想像力を持ってしても、電話の進化までは想像出来なかったのか。
そう考えると、ケータイの進化の過程は感慨深い。
それも、ここ１０〜２０年位の事な訳だから尚更だ。

少し話が反れた。
飛行船や気球などは、エコの観点から環境に優しい乗り物として近年注目されている。
JRがCMで「新幹線はエコ」と言っているが、消費電力・CO2排出量を基準に考えると飛行船や気球には及ばない。
もちろん、スピードの面からみれば飛行船の方が劣るだろう。
しかし、いずれは物理的なスピードの速さはあまり意味を成さなくなると思う。
インターネットなどの通信技術の発展が、そうしたスピードの弊害を感じさせなくなるだろう。
バーチャルな世界の方が、より現実性のある世の中へと移行していく。
