人気が増える

最近の学生の中では、プロダクトデザインを専攻する人の割合が増えているようです。
僕の周りでの情報ですので、局地的な現象なのかもしれませんが。
いや、確実に増えている。そう感じています。

ちなみに僕の母校の場合、昨年と比べて倍以上に増えたとか...。教える側も大変だと思います。

なんでかなと考えたら、どうやらプロダクトデザインが広く認知される様になったこと、プロダクトデザインと呼べる仕事の領域が広がった事が関係しているように思います。

おそらく一昔前と比べて、学生の卒業後の選択肢はものすごく増えたんじゃないかなと。
ただしその反面、大手のメーカーは以前にも増して狭き門になっていると感じます。
まぁこのご時世ですから、大手に入れれば良いというわけではありませんが。。

興味を持つ人が増えるのは良い事です。次はその興味が今後どういう方向に進んで行くのかということに興味があります。

ただ僕個人としては、この先満足にモノ作りが出来無くなる時代になるかもと思っていますので、そうした若い人達の熱意と実際の社会の状況との間に温度差を感じ、少々複雑な思いでもあります。

そして、僕自身も間違いなくその渦中にいるわけであります。
