書くということ

たまに人に自分のブログを紹介したり、たまたま見てもらったりすると、「文章を書く事が好きなの？」とか「よくあれだけの文量をコンスタントに書けるね」なんて言われます。

確かに、好きか嫌いかと言われれば好きなので、その時は素直に「好きです」と答えます。

感情的な内容になったり、過剰に表現してしまうこともしばしばですが、そんな私の書いた文章を見て好意的に捉えて下さる事はとても嬉しいことです。

もうすぐで、このブログを初めてから一年が経とうとしています。
この一年でデザインの世界も、以前にも増して変わったと思います。
何よりも、メディアを通してデザインが語られる事がもはや当たり前になったと思うのです。

一年前までは、露出の機会が増えてきたという感覚でしたが、この一年でそれは飛躍的に伸びたのではないでしょうか。展示会や見本市を見て回っていても、確実にデザインを理解しているマーケッターが増えていることを感じますし、深澤さんや吉岡さんを始めとしたデザイナーの方々の活躍もリアルタイムで知る事が出来ます。それに加え、デザイン関連のセミナーや講演会も数多く開催されています。

こうした事が当たり前になったことで、デザイナーは「では次にどうしていこう」ということを考える時期に来ていると思う訳です。

「知ってもらう・聞いてもらう」という目標は達成されつつあるとおもうので、次はそれらを元に如何にフィードバックしていくか。いやいや、底上げと言った方がいいのかもしれません。

少し大げさに言うと、世の中をコントロールして行く事が必要になってくると思います。
そして、それは自分自身をコントロールして行くことにも繋がる訳です。

つまりコトバで伝えるだけでなく、行動で伝えることをしなければならないのです。
以外とこの辺りのことは、まだまだ改善をしていかなければならない状況だと思います。
有名デザイナーとの成功例はホントにホントにほんの一部分で、縁の下で支えているデザイナーが今後どれだけ活躍していけるのかが、ホントにホントに重要だと思います。

今まで見えていなかった部分にもデザインのメスを入れる。そうしたことが今後ドンドン行なわれて行くのだと思います。いや、そうならなければいけない、そうしていかなければいけない。

だから私も、書く事だけで終わらせてはならないと思うのです。
