全く違うデザインだけど、発想の元は同じのように思える２つの電球

上は、Felix Stark(http://www.formstark.com/)というデザイナーがデザインした『Bulb 2.0』という電球型蛍光灯。エジソンが開発したフィラメント電球のオマージュであり、現代的な解釈である。

下は、坪井浩尚さんが展開する100%の『Lamp/Lamp』。
とても愛らしい姿形をした電球ですが、消耗品をこんな風にデザインして商品にしてしまうことが凄い。
結構簡単に作っちゃったかのように思われがちですが、開発には２年かかっているので簡単どころか非常に難しい。これはフィラメントを使用しているのですが、そういう電球ってまずは中を真空にしなくちゃいけないし、その後窒素やガスを注入していくのでメチャクチャ繊細なプロダクトなんです。

どちらも全然違うデザインですが、発想の始まりは「電球らしさってなんだ？」という所から両者とも始まっている様に思います。
Felix Starkは、初期の電球の構造からの電球らしさ。
坪井さんは、電球のアイコンとしての電球らしさ。おそらくこんな感じかな？
違っていたらごめんなさい。

こんな風に、発想の始まりは似ててもアウトプットされるデザインが全く違うこともあるし、それとは逆に発想は全然違うのにデザインが似てしまうこともある。
似ているから良い・悪いということでは無くて、不思議とそういうことが起こるっていう話です。

ま、意図的に似せてしまうっていう良くないケースもあるんですけど。
それはデザインではなくて単なる模倣。悲しいですね。
