without thought vol.9　[イベント] [編集]

西麻布のギャラリー・ル・ペインで開催中の「「without thought vol.9」を見て来ました。

深澤直人氏によるこの企画展も1997年の開催に始まり、今年で９年目を向かえた。
今回のお題は「フラワーベース」。毎回の様に、色々な企業のインハウスデザイナーの作品が展示されている。

実はこの企画展を見に来たのは今年で初めてだ。
気づいたら終わっていた...というのがいつものパターン。後日、メディアや人を通してその年の作品に触れていた。今年はたまたま会期中にAXISへ行く用事があったため、時間を作って見に行く事が出来た。

without thought（考えない）と言っておきながら、見る側にとっては逆に考えさせられてしまう作品も多々あるな...と以前から思っていたが、今年もそうした作品はあった。特にあんまり考えてなさそうな作品にこそ、作者の苦悩がまざまざと刻み込まれているような気がしてならない。これも自分がデザインに携わる身だからこその受け取り方なのだろうか。

何の説明も無くても、それを目の前にした瞬間、「あ〜分かる〜」と共感出来る作品が個人的には好きだ。と言うより、そうした作品に仕上げる事がこの企画展の一つの目標であるとも思う。

デザイナー側の考え方の習慣を壊すだけでなく、見る側の既成概念をひっくり返しつつも、何故かフィットする。そんな効果が作品からもたらされれば一番いいんじゃないのかな。と言ってみたが、「それが簡単に出来ちゃう人は天才だよ〜」と心の中では思っている。

深澤さんは、どんな感じでワークショップを行なっているのだろう。気になる！

一通り見終わったら、JIDAの「デザインプロセス委員会」というのに出席するためAXISへ。
