十五夜と十三夜

今年の中秋の名月は九月の十四日。もう過ぎてしまったが、今宵も綺麗な月が雲の間から姿を覗かせていた。
たまらずデジカメで写真を撮ろうと思ったら...。運の悪い事にバッテリー切れである。
というわけで、画像はGoogle風の中秋の名月。ウサギの後ろ姿がなんとも可愛らしいですね。

「仲秋の名月」と表記する場合もありますが、旧暦の八月十五日を限定して示す場合は「中秋の名月」が正解です。仲秋だと、秋を三つ（初・仲・晩）に分けた時の真ん中の時期を表すことになってしまいます。（つまり、旧暦だと八月いっぱいの期間を示す事になるのです）

秋は収穫の時期なので、その年の収穫物を月に備える、豊作を祈願するという風習でありますが、十五夜に対して十三夜というのがあるのをご存知だろうか？

十五夜は芋名月とも呼ばれているが、十三夜は栗名月あるいは豆名月とも呼ばれている。（後月見とも言います）お供えする作物の違いによるものですが、芋よりも栗などの方が収穫時期が遅いからこう呼ばれるんでしょう。ちなみに、お月見でお団子をお供えするのは芋の代わりです。
十三夜は今年は十月十一日だそうです。

お月見を風習としてきちんと行なうのであれば、十五夜と十三夜の両方を行なわなければ縁起が悪いとされています。どちらかしか行なわないことは「片見月」と呼ばれ、地域によってはどちらも同じ庭で月を見ないと駄目ともされていたり。このあたりは風習って感じですね。

ちょっと悪知恵の働く人は、これを利用してデートの誘いなんかに使ってみるのも一つの手かもしれませんね。だって、必ず二回は会わないといけなくなるわけですから。
でも、今時それをまともに受ける人なんているわけないか。

小さい時は、近所の公園や原っぱでススキを採ってきて、お団子に飛びついていたり、子供にとってもちょっとした楽しいイベントであったことを思い出しました。
ウサギさん見つけたーなんて言ってたっけかな。
